A commitment to the trees and woods in and around towns is a very cost efficient way of underpinning the local and regional economy. Some people will be employed directly in expanding and managing this resource, but green infrastructure has a more significant economic role to play in creating a stimulating working environment, improving the health of the workforce and attracting inward investment.
